Important tips for juicy baked chicken breast
Especially for those who are new to the kitchen, one of the big questions is, “how to cook chicken breast without drying it? Here are some tips that worked well for me:
Libra the chicken. I'm a big fan of hitting chicken breasts into finer pieces and more evenly flat; this helps to cook faster and more evenly. And hitting, you also mechanically soften the chicken breast, which means that you will end up with a juicer and a tastier chicken dinner.
Avoid cooking chicken for too long. Here's what happens to cooking chicken breast, a minute makes the difference! As I mentioned above, at 425 degrees F, the chicken should take about 18 minutes to cook. Watch carefully and test the temperature of the chicken with an instant thermometer to avoid cooking too long (Once the chicken registers 165 degrees F, it is ready. 18-20 minutes maximum).
Should you cover the chicken breast with foil when baking? In this recipe, I found that covering chicken breasts for the first 10 minutes about was useful to allow the steam to cook the flavorful chicken from the inside first. Then, once discovered, finish cooking faster, which helps to avoid dry chicken breast.
Let the chicken rest before serving or cutting. This is a known rule, as with a good steak, once the chicken breast reaches this magic 165 degrees F, remove from heat and leave for 5-10 minutes so that the juices are redistributed. And this time I covered the chicken while I was resting. I thought it works even better.
How to season cooked chicken breast?
The sky is the limit when it comes to flavoring chicken. To begin with, be sure to season the chicken breasts well on both sides with salt and pepper. Then layer more flavor in the form of spices and aromatics that you liked.
For this delicious baked Italian chicken, I used a simple mixture of: oregano, fresh thyme and sweet paprika with chopped fresh garlic. To put everything together, add a generous drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a hint of lemon juice.
TIP: For the best healthy taste, the key is to thoroughly throw the chicken to evenly cover with the seasoning mixture, and if you have only 10 minutes, let the marinade time.
